How to share survey results without giving full account access

Sometimes someone needs to see a survey's results — a client, a boss who doesn't use SurvIQ, an external collaborator — without needing to be invited as an organization member or given access to anything beyond that specific survey. That's what the shared results link is for: a read-only link, independent of any account.

How to generate it

From the survey's results section, the share button opens a modal where the link is turned on with a toggle. Once active, the link is ready to copy and send through whatever channel makes sense (email, message, anything) — the person receiving it doesn't need a SurvIQ account or to log in to view it.

Simple or advanced, depending on how much they need to see

The link can point to the simple dashboard (summaries with basic charts, for someone who just needs the overall picture) or the advanced dashboard (filters, cross-tabs, configurable widgets, for someone who's going to dig into the data in more detail). One is picked as the default mode when generating the link.

Optional password

If the result has sensitive information, the link can be protected with a password — without one, anyone who gets a hold of the link (even if it wasn't sent to them directly) can view the results. Adding a password turns "anyone with the link" into something much more controlled, with no need to manage accounts.

Expiry date

The link can be set to stop working on a specific date, useful when access only makes sense for a limited period (while a project or negotiation lasts, for a one-time review). Past that date, the link stops showing results with no need to remember to revoke it manually.

Restricting access to specific identifiers

Beyond public (anyone with the link) or password-protected, access can be restricted to a list of specific identifiers (authorized email addresses, for example) — for cases where neither the open link nor a shared password is enough control.

Revoking access at any time

The link can be turned off (flipping the same toggle that enabled it) or fully regenerated, which invalidates any copy of the previous link that was already shared. Neither action affects the survey or its data — only external access to viewing it.
