Patient satisfaction surveys for clinics and medical offices

Asking patients how their visit went shows you what you can’t see from the inside: how long they waited, how the front desk treated them and whether they understood what they were told. It works for clinics, medical offices and dental practices. Patients answer from their phone, without creating an account, through a QR code in the waiting room or a link they get after the appointment. Ask about the care experience and avoid asking for sensitive health data, unless you really need it and have their consent.

What to measure

Overall satisfaction

How patients rate their whole visit, from booking the appointment to leaving.

Wait times

How long it took to get an appointment and how long they waited before being seen.

Front desk

How friendly, organized and clear the front desk staff are, also by phone or WhatsApp.

Communication from the provider

Whether the doctor or dentist listened, explained clearly and answered their questions.

Facilities

Cleanliness, comfort of the waiting room and how easy it is to get to the office.

Recommendation

Whether they would recommend the clinic to family or friends, to track loyalty over time.

Tips

  • Ask about the care experience, not the health condition. Ask for sensitive health data only if you need it and with the patient’s consent.
  • Make the survey anonymous, without name or email, so patients feel more comfortable giving their opinion.
  • Ask about the front desk, wait times and the provider separately. That way you know who each comment is for.
  • Keep it short: 5 to 8 questions that take a couple of minutes.
  • If you have several locations or specialties, use one survey for each so you can compare.
  • You can have the survey close automatically on a date or after a number of responses.

Frequently asked questions

Can I ask about the patient’s diagnosis or symptoms?
Avoid it unless it’s necessary. To measure satisfaction it’s enough to ask about the experience: appointments, waiting, treatment by staff and communication. If you need health data, explain what you will use it for and get the patient’s consent.
When is the best time to send the survey?
Soon after the visit, while the experience is fresh. A QR code to answer on the way out or a message the same day usually work well.
Can the survey be anonymous?
Yes. In SurvIQ you just don’t ask for name or email. Many patients are more open when they know they can’t be identified.
Does it work for a dental office or a single doctor?
Yes. The same questions about appointments, waiting, the front desk and communication work for a small practice or a clinic with several specialties. You can start with the free plan.
